Melissa Grubbs

Melissa is a 20-year veteran of the Round Rock Police Department where she currently serves as

the Training Division Commander. She is a graduate of the FBI National Academy Session 285,

the Law Enforcement Management Institute Class 97, and holds a Master of Science degree from

Sam Houston State University.


During her career, she has focused on mental health, wellness programs, crisis intervention and

peer support programs. Melissa is paving the way for the future leaders of RRPD as the highest-

ranking woman in the history of the Department. She established the Department’s first Crisis

Intervention Team, women’s empowerment book club, and is spearheading the first all girls’

Junior Police Academy class in June of 2023. She also volunteers her time to the Ride Like a

Girl Mountain Bike Club teaching skills and confidence to riders of all ages and levels.


Melissa is a wife of 32 years, Mom to two kids, two dogs and three chickens, and an avid cyclist.

She enjoys all things outdoors but especially spending time on her mountain bike zipping

through the trees, loving life, and chasing her fifth State Championship title.


She will be speaking on encouragement, putting away perfectionism, and leading from where you are.
