  Karen Tararache is the Managing Director for Spectrum News 1, Texas. In her role, Karen oversees a team of Executive Producers and Producers delivering impactful news across Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, the Rio Grande Valley, El Paso, and beyond. Before moving to Round Rock, Texas at the beginning of the year, Karen spent a majority of her fourteen-year career as an on-air broadcast news anchor and reporter in Upstate New York. Her path into journalism was anything but conventional. Karen studied theater and film art at a conservatory in Moscow, Russia and has also owned a business as a nutrition coach and personal trainer, helping people transform their health and rediscover what brings them joy. A passionate storyteller and community builder, Karen is embracing the vibrant, family-friendly lifestyle of Central Texas with her husband, Jim and their two children, Gia and Leo. She's especially enjoying the bold, spicy flavors of Texas cuisine and looks forward to forging lasting friendships in the Lone Star State.

Through INNW, she has guided over 103 executive leaders in refining their storytelling and sales strategies, collectively generating over $53 million in funding and revenue. With a Master’s in Marketing and Advertising from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and an MBA from Duke University, Wen blends academic rigor with practical experience.
